If telling someone the truth would destroy their happiness and accomplish absolutely nothing else, is telling them still the right thing to do?

What truth would even do this? And why couldn’t you avoid this situation by not doing the thing that ruins their happiness?
I just came up with a example. Let's say your partner is trying to be an artist, yet you think that their artwork is terrible and everybody thinks their artwork is terrible. But they actually really love their artwork and think that they're talented. Yet their art career is not going anywhere. Do you tell them that they're not as good as they think they are? Or do you just let them continue living a fantasy
That's just one example by the way
Ahh a hypothetical question. And hmmmm that’s a tricky one. I think I would give them what they ask for. Support them until they ask what my opinion is and/or what’s the opinions of others. Until then, my lips are sealed. Because they might know but if it brings them happiness, there’s no need to ruin that.
