It's really cute and about the size of a raccoon. It's not native to the Americas. I'll even give you a third sentence. When frightened it will try to make itself as large as possible to be intimidating.

It's a mammal. Pretty endangered at this point

Jaguars! Now they mostly live in the south american jungle but used to be found as far north as the Grand Canyon in a variety of environments, and there's still one or two living in the desert of southern Arizona. Among cats they have a unique method of killing large prey, biting directly through the skull and into the brain
