The problem is long term compatibility. Once you're past the initial phase in which you'll overlook basically everything, the harsh reality comes crashing down. Even if you get through that (because a lot of people start to look for the next thrill like that), it's constant work from both sides to keep it working, to improve, to keep it exciting and spicy. People are so blinded by social media and influencers though that no matter if it's a man or women, the expectations are far off the reality. Men expect basically a model, someone who is always feminine, doesn't have saggy boobs and is at best 25 years old; women want a model as well, mid 20s, middle to high 6 figure annual income, has lots of time to spare for attention etc. That unrealistic view and expectations nowdays add to the short lived relationships one experiences today.
I do agree with social media being a problem but not for the same reason .I believe that loyalty and monogamy are going extinct because temptation is to great and sex is everywhere. Woman want a sugar daddy and men want the next nut .

I think you need better friends if they won't be there for you if you're in a pinch. I dated a covert narcissist 3 years ago and I am jaded now. He was great at first,like amazing and then turned into a fuckin monster. I don't know if I will ever want to date again really. Jist be cautious.
