Check your statistics. It is mostly men who do those things. Your situation is the minority of what happens. And even in your situation, if the men were not the predators, there wouldn't be anyone they could take money from for those acts.

I don't teach my daughter to fear men but I do teach her to respect her surroundings. Men aren't the issue. Bad men are. Just like bad women are. Teaching ppl to be perpetual victims who are afraid of their own shadow is embarrassing for you as the parent and your child. Instead teach them to take responsibility for their situation and be aware of what could happen but not to lead with fear.
