I remember when I was on a date with an older guy some time ago and I realized I made like 3x more than him It was a gentle reminder to date someone in the same tech field lol

Famously, every study of relationships and the psychology and compatibility behind them put money as the most important factor in the success of a relationship. Wait? Or was it that a person who overly focuses on how much money their partner makes and constantly compares it to their own income is usually driven by deep financial insecurity, a competitive mindset, or a need for control? Can't quite remember.
I don’t care if a guy makes less. I’ve dated guys who made less but this guy’s salary at his old age was lower than my starting salary right out of the college. I’ve gotten used to a certain lifestyle.
Still sounds pompous and entitled. Clearly, you don't have the looks to date cream of the crop men, so you have to leverage your income and high-class lifestyle to rationalize your unrealistic standards and lack of companionship
Why is it entitlement to date someone similar to you including the income? I think you’re just projecting a lot. My current bf makes about the same as I do. We don’t even touch each other’s money since we can both support ourselves. We work in the same field and have similar experiences and hobbies. Most tech jobs are at places with high rent too. So, there are also practical reasons.
