Ah yes, because apparently the only two options are: 1. believe the U.S. is already perfect, or 2. personally run for Congress. God forbid a citizen simply… want their country to improve. That’s literally one of the most normal forms of civic engagement imaginable. I wish the U.S. were a better country ≠ I personally possess the temperament required to survive a Senate campaign. 😂

If everyone agrees the country should be better, then my post shouldn’t bother you this much. 😂 “Be the change” also doesn’t require becoming a politician. Voting, advocating, discussing policy, volunteering, organizing, and yes, even publicly criticizing your country are all ways people participate in making it better.
