They know why but don’t think that women should be afraid of the biggest threat to our lives and safety.
They know why and they don’t care. They don’t see women as real people so they don’t consider our suffering as real either.
Let me explain in a way that most emotionally intelligent people would understand and let's see how you get on. Is it right to lock your car door every time a black person walks by? If you think it is then you don't understand prejudice. If you don't think it's ok then you do in fact understand, you just don't care. Arguably that's worse.

I am a woman and I am not scared. I have all my rights and get this: I'm not too stupid to use birth control properly! Just imagine! You're a "strong independent woman" that doesn't need a man, you'll be fine.
What does birth control have to do with this? Especially if a man kidnaps you and keeps you in his basement like many have in the past. Why do you not empathize with this? Why don't you want to be a feminist? Without them we wouldn't vote. Women died for our rights and we still fight for rights of women world wide.
