Do you think abused children go into adulthood abusing their own children?

It can really go either way. Either become abusers or incredibly anti abuse

A lot do, most don’t

by claircognizant · 1 heart

The majority do

by Newliving · 1 heart

Often but not always. And typically the exact form of abuse may change...

Depends on the person. There’s a lot who do but I’d argue there’s more who dont

It happens sure but not 100% of the time

by Pray twenty · 0 hearts

Really depends! My teenage sister sister dresses like she’s inviting abuse lol

Nope. I was abused. Grew up in foster care. I’m an incredible mom.

by WanderInAwe96 · 0 hearts

Nope. Some heal from what hurt them and stop the cycle of abuse.

It's a possibility, but some of us are stronger and know better.

So many single moms let their children get abused

Some do, but I also believe most will do anything to prevent it from happening to them

by DivinelySaved · 0 hearts

A lot of time, they could do things sub-consciously or unconsciously. But they can learn to be gentle over time

by WhimsiGothRed · 0 hearts

Some of em, yeah. Its how the cycle continues.

by BunniTboi · 0 hearts

I mean the cycles of abuse are very real and being abused as a kid can definitely lead somone to being abusive as an adult. But there are also many ppl who learn to discontinue those cycles and heal from that trauma as to not extend it to a new generation.

Its a family tradition

I know for a fact thats not true, I mean some might, but it's stupid to assume

by turquoise_comfort · 0 hearts

In what way? Sexually I would absolutely never ever, but physically I'm actually terrified of that and that's a huge reason why I don't want kids. I'd never ever forgive myself

If they don't take time to get to know themselves and heal, yes. If they avoid the pain instead of diving deep to learn how it affected them and do the work to unlearn ingrained beliefs, they will repeat the cycle, often without even realizing it.

by fuchsia_teletype · 0 hearts

Most do but myself I was abused by my dad and I broke that cycle none of my now adult kids would say I abused them. That said it’s up to the person to carry on that way or break that cycle and not live the excuse well that’s how I was raised shit

Absolutely. Hurt people hurt people.
