I wonder if other developed nations have people going "we're the greatest country in the world" or is that simply here in the US.
Every nation thinks it's the greatest nation. It's called "National Pride" and every nation has it. If you don't believe me, choose any nation and say derogatory things about it to its citizens.
The United States doesn’t do anything to earn national pride beyond overspending on its military.

Apparently after visiting for the World Cup, many Europeans agreed that the US is the best country as well.

i think every country has it's own reason for thinking they're the best. Argentina's is we are the best at football, for example. ALOT of Russians would tell me pfff you're country is so young! let me know when you've been around a thousand years and we'll talk
Objectively speaking there is no "greatest" country as each country has metrics its doing better in and worst in, comparatively speaking.

it's pretty obvious from your post that you don't really know what developed means in this context.
So explain it to me, because a lot of sources currently agree that the USA should be consider underdeveloped and possibly even declining towards a third world country. Whereas russia, although in war, is doing a lot better on a lot of aspects still
