Absolutely. The question is why this benefit should be excluded. Every other developed country has concluded that paid parental leave improves maternal and infant health, increases workforce retention, and benefits the economy. What evidence do you have that this one isn’t worth funding?

You already pay into unemployment insurance, workers’ compensation, Medicare, Social Security, and public schools whether you personally use them or not. Paid parental leave is another social insurance benefit that helps keep families and the workforce stable.
