Don’t wait to have inspiration. Automatic write, and don’t judge what’s getting on the paper… already. The first draft is hardly never as we wish. Rewrite it, change and test new words… at some point you should be content with it. But it takes patience
I’ve heard to be a good poet, you have to be reading others. I don’t know if you are. I’d also say think about the day and what was the high point or low point. Every day has one. If you had one important moment today, what was it? Write a poem about that. Start short. Just say something about that moment.
