The U.S. has the most expensive healthcare system in the world with one of the highest maternal mortality and infant mortality rates in the developed world. It is the only wealthy nation without paid parental leave or guaranteed paid vacation, has some of the most expensive childcare and higher education, one of the widest wealth gaps, low upward mobility, one of the highest incarceration rates, higher rates of gun violence, lower life expectancy, weaker worker protections, aging infrastructure and public transportation, and higher child poverty than most peer nations despite spending more than any of them. Please explain how these things make us great.
