So true. TBH, I'm a ND who *was* ready, had a kid, then became unready by extenuating, unrelated circumstance. Readiness is never an absolute. I still cherish every second I spend with my daughter, but caring for a child is a mental tax, and this whole post and thread basically just boils down to that mental budget. Kinda like a financial budget... it's easy for those who can afford to live in luxury to say "just do this thing" to those struggling to make ends meet.
