Because hormones affect procces in your body. Hormones production is determined by genetics. By hijacking this process with hrt you change the way those processes are going and that's totally by design. Doesn't change your genetics though.
i don't think the genetic makeup exactly matters because it would have been pretty similar whether they were born a man or a woman but it does indeed change that as well I believe, I need to look that up again but it does truly change a lot about you and it's ridiculous to act like it's just a fart in the wind because it changes people forever

It depends on if you still have your testicles or ovaries if you don't it can be very dangerous for you because you won't naturally produce any kind of hormones but if you still have either you will start eventually producing your original sex hormones again
