You say nobody knows. What dont we know? Im guessing your approach is agnosticism? So what facts are you going off of specifically? What questions are you asking where god is the answer or what in reality are you identifying as god? I'm with you we only ought to believe in things that are true. True meaning in accordance with fact or reality. The fact is god has never been a justified true belief. The more facts you have the more the gaps shrink and we can explain our origins with natural explanations.

Theists claim god is unfalsifiable, but its never been a justified true belief. Flat Earthers are just as devout in their flat earth belief as theists are in god. We can prove where god exists, in the mind as pure imagination, you cant find any examples of god outside your physical mind. Flat Earthers could have the truth but they want to cling to their presuppositions and lies for flat Earth. Theists are just as honest and do their research just the same as FE.

I have no fear of death, because I made the effort here to do good, lasting things and even if there were no afterlife, I wouldn't regret living for something greater than me and loving people the more for it.
A belief in god, a soul, and afterlife is about a fear of death. People or religions will manipulate others, while alive, for their own agenda if they can convince you they control your "afterlife". They arent saying those things because its true, but because they can get you to act or behave a certain way. Like causing suffering to others that arent believers or believe something different, which is something that happens due to religion. Like having family ex communicate someone, passing laws that restrict their rights, allowing women to die from pregnancy, some religions ban medicine or life saving procedures. This is the only life we get and there is no good reason to cause suffering in others.

Its a comforting lie that when you die you get to continue living in some way. People have a fear of death. Death is a natural part of life. To not die is supernatural. It goes against everything we understand about life and death. The beforelife makes as much sense as the afterlife and we understand that before we existed as an egg and sperm in our parents. After death we know what happens to. The body remains on earth and continues to exis, but they no longer have a subjective experience. For god we have plenty of religions that have "proof" we evaluated those claims and none of them align with facts we have today.
