If reality is too complex to exist without a creator, that creator is much more complex and just asserting that they don't need a cause is just hypocritical double standards. We have huge amounts of evidence to support evolution as having happened and more transitional species than I could list, and while the actual origin of life is still not totally understood, we've a great many hypotheses showing how systems chemistry makes it possible, and how it isn't as impossible as Christians and other theists like to assert. Life may be unlikely and rare and need specific circumstances to arise, but with a universe as vast as this one with hundreds of billions of galaxies containing hundreds of billions of stars, even if something is rare, it would happen. If we were to travel back in time with all our knowledge of today to when people first thought of a soul we would be able to correct them. Well, you're sort of right. It is logically impossible to prove a negative. Scientifically speaking, mathematically speaking, logically speaking we can only prove a positive. Which puts the burden of proof on the person making the positive claim. I.e " there is a God." Pointing to the existence of Christians only prove that Christians exist. Pointing to a holy book only proves that the holy book exists. It doesn't prove that the god they worship or describe exists at all. "There is no God" is a default position. It doesn't need to be backed up with evidence, it can only be refuted with evidence. There is none.
