Jesus explicitly said he did not come to abolish the Law or the Prophets, but to fulfill them. “Until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter… will pass from the Law.” Matthew 5:17–18. Your God is also supposed to be unchanging: “I the Lord do not change.” Malachi 3:6. So no, “that was the Old Testament” doesn’t solve the moral problem. Either the Old Testament reflects God’s character, or it doesn’t. Which is it?

Really? I think your argument makes no sense and I have no idea how you can hold such an inconsistent framework. My argument is consistent. I define good/bad through harm, consent, suffering, autonomy, justice, and well-being. Under that framework, genocide, slavery, sexual violence, and harming children are wrong regardless of who does them. The biblical God is portrayed as commanding, condoning, or committing those things. Therefore, I do not consider that God good. You can disagree with my framework, but that does not make my argument inconsistent. It just means we use different moral standards. And under the standard you’re defending, atrocities can become good if God is involved. That is exactly why I reject it.
