Is it common for woman in relationships to have a guy friend they text that they don’t tell their partner about?

If she’s cheating: yes. My boyfriend has met my guy friends and we even have group chats on discord and he gamed with them without me.

Dude, women are just trash. You can't rely on them to be faithful.

by Strange Duck · 0 hearts

Women say the same of men. And both are equally true.

by Godless Daddy · 3 hearts

No. That’s shady shit. That’s the dude she’s keeping on the back burner.

These days? Yup, but don't worry, "he's just a friend, you don't have to worry about him, '@girthmaster9000' is just a joke, ..."

Haha so you’re saying I’m doomed?

It’s always the one they say you don’t have to worry about

The only red flag here would be secrecy. People don't just stop having opposite sex friends because they are in a relationship. However, if she never talks about him, hides her phone when he texts, or gets evasive when you ask questions there's probably a reason to be suspicious. Don't misunderstand me. People are entitled to their privacy. She doesn't have to share every word they exchange. Though she should be willing to talk about him.

Yes, but only if they are fucking

by red_value · 2 hearts

No, that's not normal.

by Strange Duck · 1 heart

Exactly. Hiding your friends from people is crazy. I fight care if they’re male or female. The sex means nothing. Or someone who’s bi couldn’t have any friends at all. lol

My wife does all the time

I know about my girlfriend's male friends and I support it

by whatintheworld · 1 heart

I have guy friends, but I don't hide them. I have no reason to hide my friends from him.

by Strange Duck · 0 hearts

Exactly this. My wife is aware of all my woman friends. Haha No reason to hide them. Hell she’s friends with most of them to. lol

Yeah, one of my guy friends for example has a fiancée and I'm friends with her also. And another two of my friends, a guy and a girl are dating each other. I have guy friends who are single as well, but it's the same with them. We're all genuinely just friends. Many act as if this is the most horrible thing. It's really not when nobody in your friend group is a cheater or condones it, and if everyone lacks insecurity and distrust when it comes to their relationship.

by Chesty McTits · 1 heart

Yeah it just means she's cheating on you bro

by azure_haversack · 1 heart

More like I don't volunteer the information. I don't hide it. Met him when I was 9. We tried hugging once and recoiled from each other. I make him feel smart when I ask him questions and he gives me ideas when I cant think straight. Its a transaction.

by ivory_pavilion · 1 heart

Not tell their partner about? No. But I text my straight male friend almost daily so that part I think isn’t always bad.

by Stevensnewphone · 1 heart

Would it be acceptable if the roles were reversed?

by Strange Duck · 0 hearts

If it was in secrecy like this guy is saying no. But my wife having male friends and me having female friends isn’t an issue cause w don’t hide things form each other. lol

by indigo_mansard · 1 heart

More common than it should be. They just don't see the big picture or how thier shit messes stuff up that didn't need to be fucked up.

by Anon22222222 · 1 heart

Yes, very common. In fact, 100% of them do.

by Stoneytunes · 0 hearts

Is it usually due to attraction to them?

by Anon22222222 · 0 hearts

Hmm that is a difficult question.. because while yes, it is, there is still a level of mutually agreeable distance. You can either let it consume you and ruin your relationship, or you can trust that she knows what she wants and it's you. Either way it's going to end up hurting you deeply. As long as you are prepared for that pain, you'll be able to rebound and find love again.

I think it's okay if you don't have romantic feeling towards each other. I mean my BF has a lot of friends who are girls, and I don't mind it. If they can keep the boundaries, I don't mind. I will also have guy friends.
