I find many of his actions and commands to be completely incompatible with love and goodness. Could you explain how they could possibly be loving and good when they do things that are just evil
Sure, define what you understand as the entire reason why all those happen and why a black hole existing or a sun being created is different and how we only think it's good and bad because we are too small to get all of it
That doesn’t answer my question. I’m not claiming to understand the entire universe or why black holes exist (that’s believers). I’m asking how specific actions attributed to God (things we would ordinarily call cruel or evil) are compatible with the claim that he is good and loving. And “we’re too small to understand” cuts both ways. If we’re incapable of judging God’s actions as evil because we lack the full picture, then you’re equally incapable of judging them as good.
