Growing up, I had to bounce between an overly Republican father and overly liberal mother. It was jarring to have to switch between two polar opposite households as a kid, but looking back, I'm so lucky for being able to witness the ignorance and stupidity of both sides, upclose, so early on... Personally it helped me fit the puzzle pieces together, fill in the gaps of both, play off the strengths of either. That's super beneficial in modern day. That's how I see it neway.
I’m a woman with a narcissistic mother and I struggle to enjoy being around women. My dad is spineless and enables my mom’s bad behavior because she abusive to him too. I love men but definitely struggle with relationships because I never had a healthy relationship modeled for me to learn from. So is the case for most people.
