I dont get why people don't want universal health care. Yes youll be paying more in taxes. But you won't be paying hundreds or thousands for a health plan that you don't even use.

Look at these replies .. sad to see how propaganda works. All these people don’t realize they pay more now and receive less than under a system that expands Medicare.

We don't even need to pay more on taxes. We just need to cut spending on military. Y'know, the thing we spend more on than the next 6 countries combined.

The bulk of the us budget is Medicare, Medicaid and social security

It's insane, free healthcare would fix so many issues. They love to blame "mental health" for violent shootings yet are against the only thing that would realistically fix it.

This. The right always trots out the costs and never the benefits.

So how are you going to control costs?

by Sparky123 · 1 heart

Ask canada how that is working

by yellow_smock · 2 hearts

Its great, wife did 5 months of chemotherapy, 3 surgeries, multiple doctor appointments and zero bills for any of that.

You dont understand why we dont want to pay more for lower quality care and long waits?

by Meese · 0 hearts

You already pay the most per capita of anyone in the world. Why would switching to a different system thats used by countries that spend significantly less per capita cause you to pay more?

by Shadowfacts84 · 0 hearts

Except that's a lie. France and Canada pay more and have almost no real care

by lavender_macaw · 1 heart

My Canadian homie needs surgery and gotta wait 3 years for the first appointment lol

by grey_sky97 · 1 heart

I will still be paying for it, in taxes, and it will be mismanaged when I do need it

Have you ever received healthcare in a universal healthcare system?

by Meese · 0 hearts

Yes. Have you? And beyond anecdotally, all the data shows americans pay more for worse outcomes. Its not even in the top 20

by Syllogism · 0 hearts

Yes. And waited 8 months with a double grade 3 tear because they don't for MRI's right away.

by Meese · 0 hearts

So you waited and got it for free at the point of service for a non urgent procedure and you could have probably went private if you wanted it sooner. Whereas in the american system youd probably just have to pay

by Crystal-Cat43 · 0 hearts

Yet you never tell us how you will control the costs. Hospitals and doctors groups are for profit organizations.

by Palauan715 · 0 hearts

You mean paying for other people’s healthcare? Already do that now and why would I want to pay more to help pay for other people’s healthcare?

by green_satin · 0 hearts

I pay weekly for healthcare through work. My kids have needed ER, Urgent Care, and even an Ambulance Ride. My out of pocket was $0-$200. And same day visit, with no pay follow ups. Why would I want universal?

by Little Miss Mia · 1 heart

Because universal healthcare would be cheaper than the premiums you pay on your employer sponsored plan.
