you're actually so right! it's a very interesting historical fashion trend. every time women experience great social liberation and the economy is doing amazing, fashion tends to be more colorful and experimental. while contrary-wise, fashion would become less experimental and colorful in times of economic hardship and a rise in conservative ideals within society.
I actually think modesty is opposite of existing for the male gaze. Modesty is not really attractive to men these days so I feel like when I dress modest I鈥檓 actually kind of going against modern men want.
Modesty is incredibly attractive where it counts. Anyone can become the lowest common denominator while having some self respect to remain modest is a telltale sign of a better quality mate.
