If youre in the "talking" stage and you wait 24 hours w/o a reply, is talking over?

by human woman · 1 heart

no, not necessarily. but i personally don’t like to wait that long. it feels like they don’t care that much if they can’t text back.

by Qwerty_- · 0 hearts

My thoughts as well

by blue_outrage · 1 heart

People get busy, but if she wanted to reply she would. No body is so busy that they can’t take 4 seconds to reply to a text message.

by Qwerty_- · 0 hearts

My thoughts exactly

by blue_outrage · 0 hearts

Sorry brother

by TitsNSwallows · 0 hearts

I am when 100 people are texting me (not an exaggeration when posting on here.)

by Romantasy_smut · 1 heart

I usually give it 2-5 days depending on how long we've been talking. And they better have a good reason

by Qwerty_- · 0 hearts

5 days w/o reply is excessive imo. At the most I'll wait is 48 hrs. Usually, if I dont get a reply back in 24hrs, im not likely to get one in general

by Romantasy_smut · 0 hearts

Fair. It's just how I do it

by Qwerty_- · 0 hearts

The nos and the yeses are roughly equal. In my experience in dating, if no reply is given within 24 hrs, the interest was not there. 98% of people never text again after that 24hrs. I get yall get busy and life happens. But it takes 4 seconds to type out a quick reply saying that you'll get back to me later. Ghosting has become the Norm overall.

by Pariquito · 0 hearts

No. Ya gotta stand in one place for at least 72 hours. Then you'll know.

by GIGAN‼️RISE‼️ · 0 hearts

no. life stuff can happen.

by AmyYetman · 0 hearts

No

by HappyWifey❤️ · 0 hearts

Not unless i set that boundary but talking phase no commitment is required. So when i was dating i tried being reasonable. Maybe try in person hang outs or phone calls. Or if it bothers u let them know why but it might be some growing needed in that dept

by 👅MakeMe🖕🏼 · 0 hearts

No

by Silver_blunder · 0 hearts

Yep

by silver_utensil · 0 hearts

Literally fucking ask how they feel about you on a personal level you child.

by Qwerty_- · 0 hearts

No need to swear at, nor calling me a child. If you dont like the content, block and move on

by hatemen · 0 hearts

I don't knowww. Depends if the subject of needing space has come up in previous conversations. I've definitely "ghosted" a talking stage for a week before

by Qwerty_- · 0 hearts

Nope. No convo of needing space. Left on read, no reply. It's now been almost 3days. *shrug* I'll just move on i guess

by hatemen · 0 hearts

Block and move on honestly. It seems like they don't value communication with you or the connection between you two. I'm sorry :(

by Disc0Grass · 0 hearts

Not necessarily. Something could have come up.

by Qwerty_- · 0 hearts

While very true, it takes 4 seconds to say hey I'll reply to this later. And it has now been 48 hours

by Disc0Grass · 1 heart

I once had someone disappear for a couple days and he got in a serious car accident. Stuff really can come up.

by Qwerty_- · 0 hearts

I dont deny this, its usually not the norm though.

by Kicked_back · 0 hearts

Yup

by white_speakerphone · 0 hearts

Yes

by white_tongue · 0 hearts

No I'm at times es forgetful and go a few days myself w/o chatting here's a way to cope... Just lose it for a few minutes by yourself then think of how fun this person was chatting with you always hold on to hope it helps us through our day

by Qwerty_- · 0 hearts

It takes literally 4 seconds to reply saying youre busy though. After 24 hours, usually the person doesn't actually want to talk to you

by NothingToSee · 0 hearts

I think if after 3 days no reply, block and move on. You owe a talking stage nothing.

by MarylandGirl · 0 hearts

Hmm I guess it depends, me personally if I really like someone but am busy or had a bad day & don’t feel like talking ill at least call or send a text to let them know

by Qwerty_- · 0 hearts

I was left on read. No reply. And none have been forthcoming. As mentioned in an earlier comment, it takes 4 seconds or so to type out a quick txt of, "hey im really busy, ill message later,"

by MarylandGirl · 0 hearts

Well if it’s been 24 hrs I’d just assume the person is not interested, are these women you’ve been on dates with?

by Qwerty_- · 0 hearts

Nope. Like I said in my post, just the talking stage. And you're likely right, not interested is a state of being

by TitsNSwallows · 0 hearts

No, we just have stuff going on.

by Qwerty_- · 0 hearts

As someone said earlier, it takes 4 seconds to say, "hey, im busy, ill reply later." Most of the time if I dont get a reply in 24 hrs, the interest wasnt there

by TitsNSwallows · 0 hearts

Sorry, you aren't as important as the cock I have in my mouth, so ya know, reality take priority. If you do not understand that texting is MEANT to be asynchronous, then you are missing the technology point I feel. But just my own interpretation.

by Qwerty_- · 0 hearts

It is meant to be asynchronous, but at the same time, ghosting and overall lack of reply has become increasing more prevalent as time goes on. Communication is a street that goes both ways

What is the “talking” stage? Guys, I am never trying to hurt people just by having conversations with them… Why does it do that to them? Why do they get hopeful about me after so little time? Like how long does a talking stage last? When does it start? Why is there a talking stage and not just normally having a friend and eventually being like “Okay I may like you and want to see if we click” It feels like for some people “talking” stage just starts in their head whenever they think it did and maybe the other person doesn’t understand that they even want to hear from them every day seriously… because, me for example, I’m used to being a joke.

by Qwerty_- · 0 hearts

Talking stage is the stage before a relationship, both parties are testing the waters so to speak to see if the interest is there on both sides. It lasts depending on each other and what they're after. Intentions are usually established here.

by Debaser · 0 hearts

That’s so different from me culturally, it’s like there’s a needless extra step… in my understanding, once I think to myself “I like this person” I should just ask them to date 🤷‍♀️ Not then move to a “oooo idk I’ll test the waters, make things shaky and weird by doing so, and self sabotage the stability of something that maybe would have worked better if we had just loved braver and harder… with our full chests.” Or in the case of being in a talking stage before a friendship, then you’ll be in talking stage after talking stage eventually discarding the attempt when something isn’t on your ideal checklist… because a bond hasn’t really formed… I guess I’m just not very good at talking stages.

by Qwerty_- · 0 hearts

Thats understandable. If a friendship forms though the "talking" stage ends, as a relationship has been established

by G-T-F-A · 0 hearts

Only People who can Answer that with any Accuracy are the people in the Talking Stage. Remember People have Lives and get Busy at Times.

by Qwerty_- · 0 hearts

Oh forsure, but for the most part the comments have been confirming that its over

by G-T-F-A · 0 hearts

Oh Yes, Let's Listen to a Bunch of Fucking Strangers that don't Know the Intricacies of Either Parties Fucking Lives.

by Qwerty_- · 0 hearts

..no need to get so hostile. And I asked the public this question to see what people thought. Soooooooo yea, let's actually listen to some strangers and their different perspectives
