Atheism is simply the lack of belief in supernatural entities being responsible for the creation of the universe. It says nothing about our compassion for others or how we can empathise with other people's suffering and doesn't pretend to. Just asserting "my imaginary friend is why we care for others" is not an explanation, just a claim.
